St Mary's Primary School
At St Mary's, we are very proud of our local Church of England Primary School. St Mary's is the oldest school in Banbury, with roots dating back to 1705, and it serves a diverse community of children from a wide variety of religious, cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Together, as a church and school, we share a vision of creating spaces in which everyone is welcome as they truly are, and all are invited to learn, transform and grow through God's love.
We were delighted to see the school recognised in its most recent inspection (2024) for how it lives out its Christian values in serving our local community. "Love and compassion are golden threads that bind everyone at St Mary’s School together", the report reads, and the staff create "a culture where everyone is included and treated as unique individuals, known and loved by all."
Our Vicar, Serena, and our Curate, Sarah, go into the school each week in term time. We offer pastoral support to the staff and work directly with pupils to support them in their learning.
We are also delighted to welcome the whole school community into our church at special points throughout the year, to celebrate our life together.
