This Friday we are holding an open rehearsal for all local singers who would like to have the chance to sing at our Gala Concert on 21st October 2022 as we bring our Festival 200 to a close. All year we have been celebrating the 200 years since the current building was completed.
The programme of music will be as diverse as the Festival, so why not stretch your repertoire and sing something that you have never sung before or just sing the music that you are used to!
All are welcome to this first meeting and Rehearsal.
The programme for the evening will include:
- C. Hubert H. Parry’s triumphant church anthem Hear my words, ye people
- Gospel favourites such as Swing low, sweet chariot, Down by the Riverside, and O Happy Day
- Captain Noah and his Floating Zoo – the ever-popular jazz cantata by Michael Flanders and Joseph Horowitz
The Musical Director and Animateur for the evening will be Joe Cummings, director of award-winning Voices Across Time.
This is a one off and unique opportunity to be part of something unique and special in Banbury.
